Are Today's Cell Phones Safe?

Although there are government agencies that are supposed to regulate and protect consumers from harmful substances and products, we should still examine what is really at stake.

In order for us to examine the safety of today's cell phones, let's take a look at what it is in cellular phones that may apparently be a risk. Cell phones operate on radio frequency (RF), and some cell phones do emit harmful levels of RF, while most cell phones do not. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates the maximum amount of RF that may be transmitted. It is worthwhile to note that cell phones do not emit ionizing radiation, the kind that damages DNA, a radiation that does have the ability to cause cancer, so no worries about this one.

In the old days, which is not so long ago, we carried around transportable telephones, called "bag phones". These bag phones are known to emit high levels of RF, and it d raise question of safety. Fortunately, today these type of phones are no longer around. Most of the handheld cell phones in use today have an antenna built inside the phone where it is shielded for our protection to minimize RF transmission to some level. Also, today's Cell phones have are manufactured to operate on a lower levels of RF frequency than those of the earlier days, like bag phones. This lower level of RF frequency has been deemed safe.

In case you are still not convinced that cell phones are safe, there are some precautions you can take by investing in some neat and low cost cell phone accessories. These cell phone accessories include; wired cell phone earpieces, or Bluetooth earpiece. Both of these accessories will protect you from the radiation, simply because the cellular phone is kept at a distance rather then next to your ear. The wired earpiece may be bit of a hassle, but with this the phone remains away from your head. The Bluetooth earpiece is an increasingly popular cell phone accessory, which serves the same purpose as the wired earpiece, but without the wire, to make it simple, it's a wireless earpiece. There is also a lack of facts that support that this wireless technology is a hazard, and many studies have been conducted to test the efficacy of its use. Personally, I feel that the Bluetooth allows better mobility.

To conclude, whether or not you believe there is some health hazards associated with cellular phones, there are protections enacted by the FCC. If you feel that you must invest in some further precautions in order to limit your exposure to RF emissions, the cell phone accessories above will serve the purpose.

How Can Bluetooth Headsets Help Simplify Your Life?

People are increasingly spending more time in the car these days and staying connected is becoming increasingly important, for personal matters as well as business. Bluetooth Car Kits are ideal when on the move. Bluetooth will enable you to leave the cables at home and to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.

From talking on your phone to keeping your music close at hand using a Bluetooth wireless headset, Bluetooth speaker phone or car kit is the ideal solution.

So what exactly is Bluetooth?

Bluetooth technology provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, laptops, personal computers, printers, GPS receivers, digital cameras, and more. Bluetooth technology works by transmitting a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency.

Bluetooth enables these devices to communicate with each other as long as they are in range. The devices use a radio communications system, so they do not have to be in line of sight of each other, and can even be in other rooms, as long as the received transmission is powerful enough.

In order to use Bluetooth, a device must be compatible with certain Bluetooth profiles. When buying a Bluetooth headset for cell phones, it's interesting to know that all Bluetooths headsets are compatible to all cell phones. So once you know that the particular cell phone is equipped with Bluetooth Technology, you can be certain that any Bluetooth headset will be compatible.

Does iPod Accessories work with the Apple iPhone?

This is a very common question amongst iPod and iPhone fans, so let's delve into the iPhone Accessories and iPod Accessories to see which accessories are compatible.

The iPhone is compatible with the majority of accessories designed for the iPod. For example many people are concerned that now that they have an iPhone and won't be carrying the iPod around they will lose the ability to connect up to a speaker system to share the music with others. You will be happy to learn that the iPhone has exactly the same connectivity port as that found on the iPod, so it will connect to any iPod speaker system or car dock that you might have already purchased.

However some iPod accessories have changed to better suit the iPhone. A good example is the iPod headphones. It is still possible to use regular headphones with the iPhone but when you receive a call you would need to take the headphones out to answer the call. For this reason Apple has especially designed a set of headphones for the iPhone, featuring a microphone built into the cord. When you receive a call the song you are listening to is paused and it's possible to answer the call simply by pressing a small button on the microphone. Another great feature found on the iPhone headphones is that you will hear your calls through both ears rather than one, and also being able to listen to the party on the other line in stereo sound which turns your phone conversation into a very exciting experience.

Another benefit with using an iPhone with a iPhone headset is that it means that your one headset serves both headset needs, for music and phone calls. It also helps to remain focused on the road since there is no need in removing one headset to insert another, just click the button on the iPhone headset and you have already answered the phone call.

Cell Phone Battery Information

Cell phones might be easy to use but might prove to be dangerous if not properly taken care of. Batteries play a major role in operating a cell phone, so one would want to invest some time to insure that they do buy the right battery and handle it with care.

The following are some rules and suggestions that will be helpful to the consumer;

All cell phones come equipped with a battery manufactured to suit that particular model or make. Although batteries manufactured by a particular company can fit into any model manufactured by the same company, interchanging is not a good idea, as it could dangerous if the fit is not perfect for that model.

A genuine cell phone battery can be recharged a number of times. If the phone is not used frequently, then the battery should last for three years or more. The life of a battery depends on the usage. However, other conditions also matter when dealing with a battery.
With lithium ion and nickel cadmium batteries, it is a good idea to charge the battery when it is extremely low (almost dead). This increases the life of a battery, as well as ensures that the battery is “clean” before being recharged again.

Keeping the cell phone in places with extreme weather conditions might result in the circuit and the battery melting, freezing or leaking. Leaving the phone in the hot sun might result in the circuit fusing out or the battery melting inside the phone.

Using a genuine battery is always a good idea, because they are fitted with a detector to keep the level of charge correct. Overcharging is a rare event as the phone has an alert that beeps when the phone is fully charged. Overcharging might result in overheating, resulting in leakage or overflow of charge.

Taking good care of a battery is essential to avoid problems. Cell phones are a must, so a bit of care will ensure that they are in good condition at all times.

Is a New iPhone on its Way? Will iPhone Reach 10 Million Sales by End of 2008?

Apple has not indicated how often they plan to update their hot selling iPhone, however there is major rumors that a new iPhone is on it's way, it might be as early as this summer. As with every rumor, many details emerge with only the consumer being able to decide for themselves if they are willing to accept the details or to steer it away as just being someones wild imagination. Some say that the design for the new iPhone has leaked, however many dismiss it as being unlikely.

Why should Apple need to update their iPhone, when their iPhone is a record hot selling cell phone, and is keeping strong in sales for almost a year? The answer is Wall Street.

At the announcement of the iPhone by Apple's Steve Jobs, Steve has raised expectations too high by specifying Apple's target of selling 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. Now even though Apple announced in January of this year that since its launch of the iPhone on June 29 and up to mid-January, it had sold 4 million iPhones, most analysts were expecting a number more like 5 million. So even though the iPhone has been far more successful than anyone should have expected, since Apple has over estimated at it's launch it has caused shares to stumble.

However, Apple's Chief Financial Officer Peter Oppenheimer has announced in Jan. of 2008 that Apple is still "feeling confident" about reaching its goal of 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. The question is, how will Apple do it? New markets is very unlikely to help the dilemma, since Apple has already targeted the global market in the past, not leaving any room for further expansion. Now the only market left aside by Apple in the past was China. However, the iPhone is too expensive for China and, besides, China has already got a bunch of iPhone counterfeit clones for Apple to compete with.

The next option would be new prices, however, although lowering prices will increase sales, analysts are skeptical if will get Apple to their 10 million goal, since it is highly unlikely that cheapskate holdouts will out-buy the Apple fans and gadget freaks who already own iPhones.

So the only way Apple could possibly feel "confident" of reaching 10 million units by the end of 2008 is if the company were to sell more iPhones during next year's holiday season than it did during the 2007 season. And the only way to do that is to sell to existing users. And the only way to do that is to come out with a new iPhone.

A new iPhone is likely to offer things like 3G, GPS and corrections for the many small annoyances that some current users complain about. And of course a new iPhone will come along with a whole new line of iPhone accessories, for which you can count on ShopCell Cellular Phone Accessories in providing you the very best for rock bottom low prices.

Cell Phone Faceplate Covers Accessories - Today's Fashion Statement

Just as briefcases and hats express your personality, so are cell phone faceplates the today's techno fashion statement equivalent. Teens often have as many phone faceplate covers as hats or shoes. After all, cell phone accessories are always on display. Girls may enjoy showing their feminine side with a lavender, bright pink or powder blue phone faceplate. There are many models to choose with patterned designs, fake jewels, metallic and even holographic finishes. Boys tend towards the macho look, from cool Goth to radical looking psychedelic models.

Due to the fashion accessory function, teens many times may change their cell phone faceplate cover daily to match their attire or the occasion. Teens also often change clothes multiple times in a single day, as any mother's laundry basket will attest. Thus in need for multiple cell phone faceplates for a single day.

Individually, cell phone covers are inexpensive, but when you get into a couple of dozen, those dollars can start adding up. However, teens don't mind. Their cool collection can be acquired over time and it's an absolute must-have for today's teen.

Younger kids are not such avid consumers, but they'll have one or two anyway. Cartoon and movie characters are popular themes with the youngsters.

Adults tend to look for elegant, sophisticated or just plain exotic versions of the cellular faceplates, but may not have so many in their cell accessory 'wardrobe'.

Cell phones are here to stay, as are cell phone faceplate covers. Fashion and fun never go out of style.
