What Does iPhone '3G' Stand for? Isn't it just the 2nd Version?

After having covered the new Apple iPhone about to be released on July 11, ShopCell Discount Cell Phone Accessory customers where continuously asking "what does '3G' mean, did I sleep through the second version and Apple is now up to the third version of iPhone?
Don't worry out there, Apple is just about to release their second version and '3G' stands for something different completely, iPhone 3G stands for 3rd Generation Mobile Technology.
Let me explain all of this technobable.

The First-generation (1G) networks were all analog. They were days when a cell phone cases consisted of shoulder-harness, small attache cases etc. Cell phones in those days wee more like giant bricks. You might laugh to think of minutes, not hours of talk time, poor reception, and very crackly speech. 1G networks could handle very low-speed data on a good day.

Then 2nd generation Mobile Technology came about, Second generation (2G) networks were already digital, however at that time having the Internet on a cellular phone wasn’t part of the thinking. 2G networks weren’t optimized to move data around, however 2G networks could carry data. The CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology offers dial-up modem speeds with 1xRTT, the slowest CDMA data standard. GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) networks offer both GSM (data transfer speeds of 9,600 to 1,4400 bps) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Services, up to dial-up modem speeds).

This brings us to 3G Mobile Technology. 3G was designed to deliver data as part of its very nature. It’s optimized to carry bits that may or may not be voice bits. The iPhone 3G should be able to communicate as fast as about 25 Mbps over an 802.11g Wi-Fi network, the fastest standard the phone supports.

Apple’s iPhone move to 3G, is part of a larger trend for wireless devices, which is giving those devices not just the freedom to move about, but the power of real broadband, extending their usefulness for downloading and streaming video, as well as providing a real alternative to a laptop, something not yet achieved in the past.

Having said all this, before you run and get yourself Apple's new iPhone 3G, make sure that 3G is available in your area. AT&T’s 3G network only covers most major metropolitan areas. The company says "3G service is currently available in 280 U.S. metropolitan areas, and it plans to offer 3G service in nearly 350 metro areas by the end of 2008. If you’re in an area without 3G coverage, your iPhone will instead get its data over the slower EDGE network (which has much wider availability). If you buy yourself a 3G phone and then find out that it's not available in your area, Sorry to say, you'll probably pay the increased fee for monthly data because you're activating it on a 3G-capable phone, even though you are not using it. There is currently no indication from Apple or AT&T that you can choose to relegate your iPhone to EDGE connectivity for a reduced cost.

Stay tuned to the latest tips, news and advice on the new Apple iPhone 3G and be sure to stock up on the latest iPhone accessories. ShopCell.com offers a large selection of iPhone accessories at a reduced price.

Are Home Phones Threatened with Extinction?

We all remember the days when cell phones were a thing that few needed, it was only for the gadget loving people. In 1992, less than 1 percent of people worldwide had cell phones and only one third of all countries had cellular networks. However, over the years things have changed pretty much. In the 2001 Transportation Statistics Annual Report distributed by the Bureau of Transportation it was reported that by 2001 nearly 120 million Americans subscribed to a cell phone service. This was a dramatic increase since ten years prior in 1991 when the cell phone subscription statistic was 7.6 million. In the middle of 2005, the number of subscribers to cell phone carriers had dramatically increased and the number of total users had reached 2.4 billion.

Some studies claim that cell phones have become an addiction to many. The BBDO survey found that 75 percent of cell phone owners had it turned on and within reach during their waking hours, 59 percent wouldn't think of lending their cell phone to a friend for a day, 26 percent said it was more important to go home to retrieve a cell phone than a wallet. A study by Telephia, a mobile industry tracker, found that Americans averaged 13 hours a month -- with users ages 18 to 24 racking up close to 22 hours.

GE clearly seeing the threat to home phones tried to resuscitate the traditional phone by introducing the Ultra Slim Cordless Phone, a home phone with similar looks to the...Traditional Cell Phone.

The reason for the rapid number of cell phones is said to be the implementation of more towers giving a wider range of cell phone capabilities. There is also the theory that some of the more affordable cell phone marketing strategies, such as pre-paid phones and low-minute plans, are responsible for the increased number of users as well.

According to sources the iPhone 3G launch will occur at 8 a.m. local time on July 11th. Apple has also posted this information on their site . It had been previously rumored that Apple would again start sales at 6 p.m., however the new policy which requires in-store activation could be the reason for the change in times. Overview on Apple's New iPhone 3G.

Now after much speculation and many rumors whether Apple will release a new iPhone at the start of the summer, finally the new iPhone was released. On June 9, 2008 Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced a 3G version of the device, finally putting to rest months of rumors and speculation. Let's take a few minutes and review the new iPhone, it's features, improvements etc.

iPhone 3G Design
Though the iPhone 3G is thinner at the edges than its predecessor, the phone measures a hair thicker (0.48 inches versus 0.46 inches) in the gut. The other measurements are the same except that it weighs just the slightest bit less (4.7 ounces versus 4.8 ounces). Otherwise, the iPhone 3G shows few cosmetic changes from the front--same display size and resolution, and the single Home button sits just below the screen. We're very pleased to see that Apple has done away with the irritating recessed headphone jack, which now is flush so that you'll be able to use any 3.5mm headphones you like. But turn over the iPhone 3G, and you'll see more significant changes. A black, plastic skin replaces the current silver-aluminum back. The swap may cut the cost, but it might effect the durability of the iPhone 3G. The 8GB model will be manufactured only in black, while Apple promises the 16GB version to be in black and white, however, we were expecting something in the red family, but color is a personal choice. The volume rocker, speaker, charger port, camera lens, microphone, power button and display locking switch do not show any changes. Staff members that got a hands-on with the new device report that it has a similar feel in the hand to the current model, with only one exception, which is the tapered edges.

iPhone 3G offer GPS
This is one feature that was on many iPhone wish lists, with many iPhone fans waiting for the day that the iPhone will offer GPS. While the current iPhone location services find your position via nearby cell phone towers and satellites, the iPhone 3G uses Assisted GPS supplemented by satellites, just like regular GPS devices do. It also offers live tracking so you can monitor your progress as you drive or walk.

Third-party apps on iPhone 3G
The iPhone 3G will support the collection of apps available through the iPhone SDK. Apple promises to open an apps store in as early as July 2008. Gaming apps will most probably be prominently featured.

Corporate support on iPhone 3G
People with busy working schedules will benefit greatly from the iPhone 3G since it offers support for Microsoft Exchange Server. Push e-mail, contacts and calendar, remote wipe, global contacts access, and auto-discovery will now be available on the iPhone. That's another great addition as it puts the iPhone in the hands of a whole new class of corporate users who now will be able to get their work e-mail on the iPhone.

Support of 2.0 Software
Since the latest iPhone will support the 2.0 software, additional new features will continuously show up. Softwares will include such as contacts search, iWork document support, the capability to view PowerPoint attachments, bulk move and delete, a scientific calculator in landscape mode, parental controls, and support for 16 languages. You'll also be able to use a graffiti-style application for entering characters in Asian languages.

Battery life of the iPhone 3G
Last year Apple's CEO Steve Jobs said that Apple had not included 3G in the first iPhone because it would have made too many compromises with the handset's battery life. But now it appears that Apple has solved that problem. The iPhone 3G promises a solid 5 hours of 3G talk time, 10 hours of 2G talk time, 5 hours of 3G Internet time, 6 hours of Wi-Fi Internet time, 7 hours of video playback, 24 hours of audio playback, and 12.5 days standby time. The audio and video times are unchanged from the original iPhone.
ShopCell.com offers a large variety of Accessories for iPhone 3G at everyday low prices.

Protecting Your Cell Phone from Damage.

One of the most common and best ways to protect your valuable cell phone is by purchasing a "Cell Phone Skin". Cell Phone Skins are easily flipped on to the phone and act as a cushion in the event that the cell phone is accidentally dropped. Although this should not be in place of a good insurance plan on your phone, a skin is recommended to avoid the hassle of having to deal with the insurance company and also for avoiding the deductible payment that sometimes can cost you more than the worth of your phone.

Cell Phone Skins are a customizable, removable, and replaceable vinyl decoration that is wrapped onto your cell phone. Several companies now devote themselves only to the creation of Skins for laptops, cell phones, digital cameras, and even your mp3 players The Skins are custom designed and cut to fit each device and model perfectly.

For best results with your cell phone skin, clean the phone thoroughly, with an alcohol wipe or a damp cloth, before applying the skin to your cell phone. The skin can also be easily removed, in the event you decide to no longer utilize this protection for your cell phone.
ShopCell.com provides cell phone skins for most cell phone models at greatly reduced prices.

Review and Overview on the Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset.

Bluetooth headset designs did not change much over the last few years. The only difference to be noticed is the size, since they somehow got a little smaller from they time that they were first introduced. There is however one exceptions though, the Aliph Jawbone which has its perforated diamond shaped shell. However Plantronics is now offering the fashionable headset market a most different looking headset we've seen to date, the Plantronics Discovery 925.

The overall look Plantronics Discovery 925 is very stylish and one-of-a-kind. The Discovery 925 is now available in black, gold, and a purple like hue color, but will be having more colors later on. The Discovery 925 features a square diamond shape on the top, and it's this square shape that houses the multifunction button, as well as a LED indicator light. The boom mic narrows down to a point, giving a very stylish look and forming a hollow triangle shape in the middle. The multifunction button is nice and big, and is very easy to press, even while worn on the ear.

The back of the Plantronics Discovery 925 is very simple and features a small in-ear style earpiece along with a gel eartip cover. The eartip has a square loop that lets the earpiece fit in the ear without the need of an ear hook. The Discovery 925 comes with small, medium, and large eartips for different size ears, just as Aliph has done with their Jawbone 2, offering multiple ear pieces to accommodate all ear sizes. We found that the ear pieces fit excellent, being snug and secure, though it does take a littile maneuvering to get it to it's perfect fit.

The features of the Discovery 925 is very similar to the other Plantronics headsets. It has the typical answering, ending, and rejecting calls, as well as voice-dial support, last-number redial, and the capability to transfer calls from the headset to the phone and from the phone to the headset. A great feature added to the Discovery 925 is the "Multipoint technology", which lets you pair up to two different Bluetooth devices at once, enabling you to use one headset with two different phones.

The Discovery 925 comes with a leather charging case that looks a lot like a lipstick case. You can charge up the case along with the headset for extra battery life.
Having tested the Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth headset with the RIM BlackBerry Pearl phone, our staff were able to offer a hands on review. They found that the pairing process went very smoothly thanks to the Discovery 925's QuickPair system that automatically places the headset in pairing mode when it's turned on for the first time. Call quality was excellent, with audio performance comparable with landline quality. This is thanks to Plantronic's AudioIQ digital signal processing technology, a technology that reduces background noise. Callers reported that our voice sounded very natural. However, it did not perform so well in windy very environments. For optimum performance it is suggested that the boom mic should point toward the corner of the mouth as this enhance voice clarity considerably.

The Plantronics Discovery 925 measures 2.7 inch long by 0.9 inch wide by 0.5 inch deep. Being very lightweight, weighing only about 0.28 ounce, it certainly won't weigh your ear down.

The Plantronics Discovery 925 has a rated talk time of 5 hours. It performed a standby time of approximately 7 days when having the Multipoint technology turned off, and a rated standby time of approximately 4 days when it's turned on.

ShopCell.com Discounted Cell Phone Accessories offers now the Plantronics Discovery 925 for a low price of $74.99.

Review on the Motorola T305 Bluetooth car kit.

The Motorola T305 is one of the best selling Bluetooth car kits. Bluetooth car kits are an ideal solution for those who want to talk on a cell phone hands-free while in their car, but don’t want to wear a headset or earpiece.

Motorola T305 overview
Setting up the Motorola T305 is a breaze, it involves simply pairing it with a Bluetooth enabled phone and then attaching the device to your car’s sunvisor, it comes with a small mounting clip for this purpose.

Incoming calls are controled by a multi-purpose button on the front, which flashes red and sounds an alert that is set to automatically match the ringtone of your cell phone. By simply pressing the button the call is answered with the conversation directed though an inbuilt speakerphone. This button can also be used to activate voice dialing if your cell phone comes equipped with this feature. The front of the T305 is nicly designed with a replica carbon-fiber panel that ads much excitment the otherwise boring black plastic cover. At the base of the unit is a mini-USB port that serves the purpose for charging the device via your PC. You can also use the vehicle power adaptor which plugs into the car’s cigarette lighter.

Motorola T305 Features
The T305 comes equipped with powerful 1-watt speaker and is enhanced with echo and noise reduction technology that help overcome any ambient sounds. It operates by Bluetooth 2.0 wireless connectivity, the T305 comes with an EasyPair feature that makes connection with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone easy and involves no installation. The package also includes all necessary cables for charging as well as the removable sun visor clip. We found that the device also worked fine while being in one of our vehicle’s storage compartments. The sun visor however remains the best location for this Bluetooth car kit. This car kit does not come with voice activation, so you will need to remove your hand from the steering wheel for a short moment to answer and end your call.

Motorola T305 Review by Our Staff
The T305 comes fully charged out of the box and paired very easily with our cell phone without any hassle. The powerful speakerphone is extremely loud and worked well even when being set to moderate volume levels. Unlike other integrated Bluetooth car kits, the Motorola T305 won’t close your car’s stereo if an incoming call comes through, a feature that some people would enjoy having. The ring tone was easily heard even while having the music turned on loud + having our windows down, so there is definatly no problem with missing call with this car kit. The party on the other line was able to hear the conversation crisp and clear without any ambiant noises. Motorola says that the battery is capable of 12 hours talk time and 200 hours on standby. Though this seems long, many competitor models such as BlueAnt’s SuperTooth 2 last nearly four times as long.

Rounding Off the Review
This Motorola T305 Bluetooth Car Kit did impress us. It’s reliable and easy to use and we’d recommend it to anyone looking for a good wireless Bluetooth car kit with a low price. The battery life is more than enough for most trips.

ShopCell.com offers this Motorola T305 Bluetooth Car Kit for as low as $44.99

Review on Motorola H375 Bluetooth Headset.

I am pretty much a Motorola Bluetooth fan. Overall they provide the best available Bluetooth headsets for your money. Of course there is the more expensive Bluetooths like the Jawbone from Aliph etc. However Motorola Bluetooths are the way to go when on a tight budget but not willing to sacrifice on quality.

Let me share with you a review that we received on the Motorola H375 Bletooth Headset from Peter L., a loyal ShopCell.com customer from Long Branch, NJ.

Many Bluetooths headsets come with flat speakers, meaning that the ear piece is flat on the ear and is not in the ear. These types of ear pieces cause a problem when in noisy conditions (i.e., car window down, walking around inside crowded stores, etc. ) causing to be unable to hear your conversation even with the least amount of external noise. The Motorola H375 however does not posses this problem, Motorola has placed the ear piece into the ear, right where it belongs! This way except in the noisiest of atmospheres, sound level is great and you can easily hear over the most encountered noise conditions.

Setting up and pairing the Motorola H375 Bluetooth Headset Motorola phone was fast and easy. Performance is really great, having crystal clear sound and being very comfortable. If I had to say anything bad it would be that the Call button is a little difficult to use. I find I need to grasp the phone with my thumb and third finger to stabilize it, then get my first finger positioned and press just a bit harder than it seems should be needed. But this is definitely not a reason to call it a bad headset, it's just a minor discomfort. As with most Headsets the hook over the ear never feels quite solidly connected to your ear, however the great part with the H375 is that the ear piece goes in to the ear, so it helps somehow to get the headset to feel safe on the ear.

A nice feature is the battery charge indicator. When you press and hold both volume buttons at the same time the status light turns one of three colors indicating remaining charge relative to talk time. This is a feature that I find to be very helpful.
Another great feature is the ability to change the "+/-" volume buttons so the + button is on top no matter which ear you wear the unit on!, On most headsets it's a little annoying to mistakenly make the volume higher when trying to lower it. However with the Motorola H375 there is no room left for error.
The Motorola H375 has an excellent range, I experience a crystal clear connection up until I hit around 30ft. At 30ft the sound starts to get a little raspy.

Bottom line in my opinion? Dollar-for-dollar this unit is a really great choice.

Accessories Included with the Aliph Jawbone 2 Headset.

The Jawbone 2 comes with a number of accessories. There are three ear pieces, they range from small, to large. The large is very large, it would not even fit in my ear. It also comes with four ear hooks, which are flexible, and all different sized. Two are leather wrapped, and the other two are standard plastic. The ear hook is optional, if you prefer not to use one at all . I tried the headset without an ear hook, and although there were no problems, I found that it rested much more reliably on my cheek when I did use the ear hook.

The reason Aliph included this time all different sorts of ear pieces and hooks, is because of the large number of complaints received on the first Jawbone headset. It is not that the first Jawbone headset was any worse than other cheaper brand headsets, it is more to the fact that it is a high end headset. Since it is a high end bluetooth headset, people tend to give more complaints due to the fact that they paid a hefty sum and want to receive a product without any faults. Aliph has listened and this time included a few different sizes, just to make the consumer happy. As it seems they did a great job in making the consumer happy, after selling the new Aliph Jawbone 2 headsets for over two weeks, we can say that no complaints were received from our customers.

How is the Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Different than other Headsets?

The Jawbone Bluetooth headsets are extremely noise canceling. You can be boating, flying, mowing the lawn or on a motorcycle and the person on the other end can still hear you. Maybe not well, but most other headsets get totally unusable as soon as the noise levels reach somehow a higher level.

What makes the Jawbones work so well?
The jawbone has a very small piece of plastic at the end of the headset that rests against your jaw and uses bone conduction to pick up the vibrations in your skull and mouth, and only sends sounds that sync with those vibrations. Due to this technology, this headset is performing much better than all other bluetooth headsets. It's not just a matter of a better quality headset, it utilizes a technology that all other Bluetooth manufacturers were not able to provide.

I routinely use the Jawbone bluetooth in areas that the noise is so loud that I can't even hear my own voice unless I shout. However the person on the other side of the line can hear me clearly with NO background noise while I talk at a normal level. If the person would have been standing next to me he would not be able to hear me over the noise, but through my Jawbone Bluetooth he can clearly hear every word.

The New Jawbone 2 is even better than it's predecessor. Any complaint that people might have had with the older version, so far the Jawbone 2 Bluetooth has past all tests and no complaints were able to be found.

ShopCell.com offers now the Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset at a 10% discount.

The Benefits of the Most Popular Cell Phone Accessories.

As cellular and mobile phones are become more more and more high-tech, people are experiencing new ways to improve their daily efficiency. Especially now that cell phones have built-in cameras, calculators, note pads, music players, and other things that just a few years ago wouldn't have been part of a phone, these things are increasingly commonplace. Here is some of the finest technology available for your cell phone, regardless of its make and model.

Bluetooth headsets: Headsets are a great thing to have for a phone, especially since so many states have laws regulating the use of cell phones in cars and other vehicles. However using a ordinary headset might be very annoying, no matter how much you try to keep that wire untangled, somehow it ends up having knots all over. Because of this reason, Bluetooth headsets, which is the hottest and newest thing you can get for cell phones is a excellent choice. They're sleek, small, and best of all, wireless. Because they rely on Bluetooth technology, you don't have to worry about untangling or dealing with a bunch of wires every time you use your phone.

Cell Phone Car charger units: While charging your phone to full while at home or in your office might sound like being just fine, the amount people talk on their cell phones many times exceeds the battery limit. Cell phone car chargers are great for this reason, you never need to worry that your batttery is running low and you would get disconnected. The solution is simple, just plug it in to your car and continue on with your conversation.

Phone Faceplates: When cell phones first strated becoming popular, it was that chunky boring non-attractive looking piece of tech. As time went on this think has changed dramatically, cell phones are today very much a fashion item. For this reason most people buy a few different cell phone faceplates for their cell phone, in order to match their dress, suit etc.

For people not familiar with cell phone accessories, the thought of treating themselves to some great accessory brings up to their mind that it's for people who have the extra money to spend on these "Luxury" things, however this is not so. Cell phone accessories are availbel today at very low prices. At ShopCell.com you will find top brand accessories a greatly reduced priced. Browse ShopCell.com to find the perfect accessory to treat yourself or your loved one.

What is Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Technology?

Noise Cancelling Technology is where a headset attempts to differentiate between your voice and background noise. It then separates the two to the best of it's ability, canceling out the noise and transferring along only your voice to make the audio quality cleaner. Of course this works with varying degrees of success from poor to stellar. Once again the quality of the noise canceling bluetooth headset (and price paid) are probably pretty good indicators of the audio quality produced. Noise cancelling in bluetooth headsets is also called "Digital Signal Processing" (DSP). Headsets with better noise canceling usually have more than one microphone (two or more) to be able to separate the noise better.

Bellow are some great Bluetooth headsets with Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Technology:

Aliph Jawbone
The Jawbone has been getting raving reviews ever since it was first shown at CES early 2008. The Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Macworld all give it stellar reviews. It uses "military grade" noise canceling technology. You can usually find it new Jawbone Bluetooth Headset for $70-$100.

Blueant Z9
The Blueant Z9 bluetooth headset is in the market since mid 2007 and currently retails for about $70. It claims to have advanced noise cancellation that "preserves the natural voice". Blueant calls it "Voice Isolation Technology". In addition this unit has 2 modes for noise cancellation, both standard and "Max". Since people sometimes are in very high noise places this option is a really good thing to have. The Blueant z9 highly rated by most users , in fact it seems to be better rated than all the Motorola bluetooth headsets we were able to see online.

Review on the New Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset.

The new Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset got the FCC's approval this April of 2008 and is selling strong. So let's take some time and discuss this powerful Bluetooth headset.

When Aliph released the first Jawbone Bluetooth headset two years ago, it became a highest rated and most popular Bluetooth headset because of its amazing sound quality and of course it’s eye-catching design. However, there were two big complaints about it: it is bulkier than most headsets out there, and it has an unusual ear hook that made the Jawbone difficult to position correctly. As it seems, Aliph has listened to the consumer, because the new Aliph Jawbone 2 has put an end to those negatives. Not only is the Jawbone 2 smaller and lighter (The Jawbone 2 is almost 50 percent smaller than the original, measuring 2 inches long by 0.5 inch wide by 0.5 inch thick and weighing 0.35 ounce), the Jawbone 2 also has a simpler ear hook design and a great new look that leaves its predecessor somewhere way back. Its noise-canceling technology has even been upgraded from being called the "Noise Shield" to the "Noise Assassin," which promises to be more aggressive in canceling out ambient noise. Aliph is saying that the "Noise Assassin" technology has been tested by the military and approved by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). DARPA is the U.S. Department of Defense's independent research branch. The Jawbone 2 is not intended for 'cheapies' it is retailing f for $149.99, but if you wish to get the ultimate and top of the line in Bluetooth headsets, it is definitely worth it.

The Jawbone 2 was designed by the famous industrial designer Yves Behar, who in fact was the designer of the first Jawbone Headset as well. The Jawbone 2 features a beveled diamond pattern all along the front, which results in a three-dimensional texture that glides smoothly under our fingers. At first glance, the Jawbone 2 may appear as not having any buttons at all no buttons, but although you cannot see its controls, you can feel them. There's the Talk button on the front of the headset, while Aliph's patented Noise Assassin button is on the top. On top of the Talk button you Will find a very slim sliver of an LED light, which glows bright white when the headset is powered on. You also have the option of turning the LED light completely off. Though these hidden buttons create a streamlined design, our staff did think it would be better to have a more obvious Talk button instead of having to feel around for it. Another thing that we find may have been made better, is that since the LED light is directly on top of the Talk button, it makes it difficult to press the button and see the light at the same time.

It is worthy to note that there is no real volume rocker, the Jawbone 2 is configured to adjust the volume automatically according to the environment, thanks to its Noise Assassin technology. If one wishes to turn the Noise Assassin to off, it can be done by hitting the Noise Assassin button. In order to adjust the volume manually, the Noise Assassin button also acts as a singular volume control, meaning you have to cycle through different volume levels to get to the right volume.

Turn the headset around and you'll find a rubber earpiece, an optional ear hook, and a tiny white rubber nub that acts as the Voice Activity Sensor. In order for the voice-amplification technology to work correctly, one must wear the headset so that the sensor lies against your cheek, allowing it to detect the vibration of your voice. Unlike the first Jawbone, the ear hook is completely optional. Since the earpiece fits more securely in the ear, you can choose to wear the headset with the ear hooks or without it. As a bonus, Aliph packages a few different size earpiece covers plus different ear hooks for a better fit (I guess they really want to correct the fit problem that people experienced with it's predecessor). The Jawbone 2 is a lot more comfortable than the first Jawbone Headset, it can be worn very easily. Even when choosing to wear them with the ear hooks, one can easily wear their eyeglasses along with this Jawbone 2 headset, since the ear hooks are so flexible and thin.

The most important reason to get the Jawbone 2 is because of its great noise-canceling technology. It comes with a dual microphone that really helps to reduce the wind noise, it also features a technology that protects your ear against unexpected loud noises, and last but not least, the above mentioned voice-activity sensor and Noise Assassin technology that helps to amplify your voice and drown out ambient sound.

The Jawbone 2 has a rated talk time of 4 hours and a standby time of more than eight days! Some other astounding features include call waiting support, a low-battery status indicator and voice command support.

Shopcell.com is proud to be one of the first retailers selling this new Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset. As always, You can count on ShopCell.com to provide you with all your cell phone accessories needs at greatly reduced prices.

How to Protect Your iPod from Thieves.

I just love my iPod and that's why I felt really vulnerable when I discovered that my iPod is missing from my car, or to put it more blunt, when my iPod was stolen from my car.

I started reading up and found that unfortunately these little pieces of technology are the number one target for thieves. However, there are ways you can prevent this horrible episode from happening to you. I would like to share with you some points on how to protect yourself, or rather hgow to protect your iPod.

iPods have increasingly grown in popularity over the past few years. With that increase in the number of people walking around with them, the number iPod robberies has also increased. The reason they are targeted is because they are easily identifiable and come without any anti-theft protection, and are not a low cost gadget. So let's go on to some easy to follow prevention steps, that may prove to be valuable to you one day.

1) The number one thing you never want to do is to leave your iPod unattended and if you do need to leave it without your supervision, make sure to hide it well. At all times keep it in your pocket, purse, in your pants or jacket. When you leave it in your car, keep it well out of sight, such as putting it in to the glove compartment or under a seat, you never know who will be walking by your car and see it. The trouble may not just be that your iPod is missing, in most cases you will need to deal with a shattered window. I am not sure which one is more costly, the replacing the car window or the iPod, so you would want to avoid both.

2) Although most people choose to walk around and show-off their iPod earphones, it might not be so wise. When thieves see someone with these iPod ear pieces they just need to see where it leads to and walk over and snatch it, they are real giveaways for thieves looking for a target. I would recommend to find earphones for iPods that are less less distinguishable and therefore less likely to draw unwanted attention.

3) Try not to wear your iPod belt clip in the open, rather have a t-shirt or other clothing covering your iPod. Wearing them out is a call for a thief to rob you and before you realize, some thief is now the proud new owner of your beloved iPod.

4) Another smart move is to register your iPod with Apple. Register your serial number which can be found on the back of your iPod. Next, make sure to create a profile including your home address and phone number. Once you registered your iPod, if someone finds your iPod they can contact Apple to report your lost iPod, Apple will contact you immediately that your iPod has been found.
It's also a good idea in general to know your iPod's serial number. If it ever gets stolen, you will be able to provide the police with your serial number. This may give the police a much better chance of recovering your iPod.
