Enjoy Your iPod Video Without Annoying Others.

In previous generations, when technology was a thing of science fiction, it was much easier not to annoy your colleague or the fellow sitting next to you on the bus or subway. It meant following a set of humanity rules and doing some Grandma rules, like sneeze in to a handkerchief etc.
However in today's world, with all the technology, a considerable amount of effort is needed in order to be considerate with the people surrounding you. For example sitting in a restaurant and leaving your cell phone ringer volume on a high level can be very annoying to the people around you, even though most people won't comment to you on this. Another example is indulging in your iPod on your commute to work or school without utilizing a good iPod headphone. Poor headphones will be audible to your neighbors and it can be very annoying to the people around you, to be forced to listen to the music you like. The music you like might not be their taste, or they might not be interested to listen to music at this moment.
High quality iPod Headphones are available at low prices, so there is no excuse for not getting one, if you know that you will be using your iPod in public places then get yourself a good iPod headphone.
The same is true with iPod Video, sitting and watching your favorite video in public might offend the neighboring people. So we recommend a good
iPod Video Headphone to ensure that others are not forced to listen to your videos when what they actually need is a good peaceful nap. Another useful iPod accessory is a screen protector for iPod video. This good
iPod Screen Protector will block others from viewing without compromising your own view!
Enjoy your iPod and at the same time make sure that your neighbors are enjoying their day as well.

Enjoy Your iPod This Summer on the Road.

Now that summer travel is at its height, it is time to dwell on ways to enjoy your ipod while on the road.
To play your iPod through your car stereo, you can get yourself a
Bluetooth Car kit for iPods. A Bluetooth car kit allows you to play your iPod music inside your car through your vehicles stereo speakers. Although cables are available to let you connect your iPod to your car's stereo system, we find that most people choose a bluetooth car kit. The reason for this is simple, bluetooth car kits are very convenient and offer some excellent functions. Take one car kit for an example,
THB BURY iPod Bluetooth Comfort Compact 9060 Car Kit. It offers excellent sound quality and a touch screen with new DialogPlus voice control system. The speaker-independent DialogPlus voice control has a unique word recognition system which is both fast and highly accurate. However complicated a name sounds, however quickly you say a telephone number, the CC 9060 responds to your voice immediately - and isn't affected by background noise. And thanks to text-to-speech functionality, the CC 9060 can also read text messages out loud - so you get the information you need without needing to look at the phone's display. Includes: 2.8-inch screen with mounting, electronic box, external microphone for optimum sound quality, universal switch box for audio output via vehicle's loudspeakers. Being the fact that Bluetooth car kits have all these features, makes it very attractive to consumers.
Next, to keep your iPod in place inside your car, you need a
iPod car mount. You can purchase an iPod mount whereby you can mount it at different areas inside your car. A good iPod mount should keep your iPod firmly in place and enable you to reach it easily.
To charge your iPod while on the road, you can buy an
iPod car charger. An iPod car charger will allow you to charge your iPod through the cigarette lighter adapter. For some FM transmitter, it will automatically charge your iPod as you play.

How to Get Your iPod Ear Buds Clean.

People know that they have to clean their sock, shirts, pants etc. but somehow when it comes to iPod headphone ear buds few people pay attention about its hygeine. Afterall iPods headphones are are inserted in the ones ear fro quite a nice amount of hours each day, so thought should be put in to its hygiene.
Cleaning iPod earphone buds is not a strenuous job, so lets discuss today the few simple steps that will get yours clean from your ear's residue.
Unplug the ear phones and move the iPod to a distance.
Although this step sounds like unnecessary to list, I had a friend that skipped this one and ended up with a damaged iPod. So make sure to remove the iPod earphones and move the iPod to a safe distance.
Soak a Cotton Ball
Take a cotton ball, a good quality 100% cotton ball is preferred for optimum performance, and place it over a hold it at the opening of a isopropyl rubbing alcohol bottle. Then while at it, quickly turn the bottle upside down, thereby wetting the cotton ball slightly.
Rub the iPod ear buds
Rub the iPod ear buds very gently with the cotton ball, while putting in thought not to get the ear buds too wet, as this may damage the ear buds. The ear buds should only get slightly damped.
Repeat the above steps until fully clean
Repeat the above steps as much as needed. If the cotton ball gets too wet then change it with a new one.
Let ear buds dry
Allow the ear buds to thoroughly dry before using them again.

How to Untangle Yourself Out of a Cellular Service Contract.

We are all too familiar with this phenomenon, a better cell phone service deal is available, either a better phone for free or a better price, and the customer wants to terminate their current contract to the better one. However there is the Cellular Service provider penalties that is causing some aggravations. What should be done?
Ask your cellular provider to produce the signed contract.
Ask them to supply a copy and mail it to you. This step was once a great ammunition, however as of today, most retailers send their paperwork to storage facilities or scan them into databases and can usually pull up contracts and receipts fairly easily. So this step might not be a great solution. However trying does not hurt.
Be a noise maker.
If your service is not up to par, say you want out because of the poor service. Then back that up by filing official complaints online with the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau. One should not follow this step if the service of your cellular provider is good. However most times there is room for a valid complaint, so make sure to get this problem working on your side.
Study your bill for any changes to the Terms of Service.
It happens quite often that providers modify their service plans. This voids the previous contract. So make sure to read the small print on those inserts included with your bill, in most cases it will notify that you have 30 days to cancel your contract with no charge simply because they changed the contract.
Nothing works?? Cut down on Extras!
As a last resort, cut back to the bare minimum the provider allows and drop any extras, like picture-messaging etc. Depending on the number of months you have left, this could be cheaper than paying the early termination fee, which can often run up to $300 per line. However, at some cellular companies changing your plan, even to reduce it, may extend it for at least another year, so make sure this is not the case with your provider. In all events do the math first to make certain it will actually save you money.
If you want to fight the termination fee, consider your time. Is it worth the hassle?
Sometimes it's worth just to pay the early termination fee. Sure, it's an expense in the wallet, however once you pay, your nightmare is over. Following the steps above can be an unpleasant pursuit, and may rob you of hours, days, even weeks. What's your time worth?

How to Save Your Wet Cell Phone?!

Have you ever accidentally dropped your cell phone in the sink, or even worse, the toilet? When your cell phone gets soaked it usually means that it's time to replace your phone, but if you're fast, it can be saved.
Let's discuss today what needs to be done in order to save your wet cell phone:
Get it out of the water as soon as possible.
Plastic covers on cell phones are put on pretty tight, however water will enter your phone in 20 seconds or less water. So grab your phone quickly!
Make sure to remove the battery at once.
Electricity and water do not mix, so cutting power to your phone is a crucial first step in saving it. Many circuits inside the phone will survive immersion in water being the fact that they are not attached to a power source when wet. This is one of the most important steps, so don't think, just do it at once!
Dry your phone.
You will need to remove as much water as soon as possible, so you can save it from getting into more parts of the phone. The best way to dry it is to shake the phone (Be cautious not to drop it), then use a towel or paper towel to gently remove as much of the remaining water as possible. Dry the left over moisture by hand.
Remove any covers and external connectors.
Remove any covers and external connectors to open up as many gaps and slots in the phone as possible. This will allow in more air and get the phone to dry quicker, thus allowing less time to be damaged. A
cell phone tool kit may help you easily remove all covers.
Dry with a vacuum NOT a hairdryer.
Use a vacuum if you have access to one. Do not use a hair dryer to dry out the phone, as this may force moisture further into the small components, deep inside the phone. If moisture is driven deeper inside, corrosion and oxidation may result when minerals from liquids are deposited on the circuitry. Although using a hairdryer might fix it temporarily , it will eventually cause component failure inside the phone. Instead, remove all residual moisture by drawing it away with a vacuum cleaner held over the affected areas for 15 - 20 minutes in each accessible area. Exercise caution not to hold the vacuum too close to the phone, as a vacuum can create static electricity, which will damage your phone.
Insert your phone in to rice overnight.
Leave the phone in a bowl or bag of uncooked rice overnight. The rice will absorb any remaining moisture in your cell phone.
Give your phone a test. After you have waited a day two, inspect your phone once more, make sure everything is clean and dry looking and re-attach the
cell phone battery to the phone and see if it works. If your phone does not work, try plugging it into its charger without the battery, if this works, you need a new battery. If not, try taking your cell phone to an authorized dealer. Sometimes they can fix it. DO NOT hide the fact that it has been wet, today's cell phones have internal indicators which prove that your phone was immersed in to water.
Make sure to print this article and have it handy, since when it does happen it might just be too late to start searching for this article.

Dress up Your iPod with a...Sock!!

When I told a few of my colleagues the other day, that the Apple
iPod sock is a hot selling iPod accessory, they looked at me as if I am off-the-Moon. "Why on earth would anyone spend $30 dollars on a sock?!" (A single sock, not even a pair!)
Apple has an accessory called an "iPod Sock". In Apples words, this is what it is meant to do:
"Dress your iPod up in any one of six vibrant color socks (green, purple, grey, blue, orange, and pink). This set of knit socks provides a stylish, fun, and practical way to protect your iPod".
I can understand that it is fun or even stylish, but how on earth can they call it practical. Isn't it more practical to just slip your iPod out of a
iPod leather case or a
iPod holster?! It seems to me that Apple is running out of ideas on developing new iPod accessories. Another great question that keeps my head pondering, if people actually want to keep their iPod in a sock, then try a newborn sock. It fits perfectly! And it's only $0.99 at your local .99 cent store.

With the Apple iPod continuing to become more and more popular as each day passes along, let's spend some quality time discussing and recommending some great iPod Accessories.
iPod Speakers
iPod fans love to walk around with that white
iPod headphones plugged in to their ears. However, when sitting at home or office wearing headphones is not always the best option. Getting your self
Speakers for iPods is a great idea, it will allow you to listen to your favorite music on your iPod, but in the same time it won't cut you off from your surroundings, as iPod headphones are known to do. When choosing speakers for your iPod, there are two types of speakers you can get, Bluetooth or regular speakers.
iPod Bluetooth Speakers are a little higher in price, but they are very convenient. It does not require you to plug them in and you won't have to deal with tangled wires. On the other hand, regular
portable iPod speakers can be purchased for cheaper, however the wires are a nuisance to some consumers.
iPod Bluetooth Car Kits
Wearing headphones while driving is a potential hazardous thing. Headphones can block the surrounding sounds, thus preventing the driver from being aware of their surroundings. This can be very dangerous when a nearby driver is trying to grab your attention but fails to be successful due to the iPod headphones. The solution is to get a

Get Your Cell Phone Battery to Last Longer!
A cell phone without power is worth nothing, that's why it's important to ensure that your battery lasts for as long as your phone is connected to service. Of course, there are
cell phone batteries available for almost any model, however I am sure anyone out there would rather choose to have their original batter to last, than need to go searching for a replacement battery.
So lets discuss today what steps need to be done in order to get the most out of your original battery and get it to last as long as you have your cell phone in use.
Let the Battery Fully Charge Before it's First Use.This step is probably the most known, however due to it being very important we will put it first. New batteries should be fully charged before their first use to get maximum capacity. If your cell phone has Nickel based batteries you should initially charge them for 16 hours and then run through 2 to 4 full charge-full discharge cycles. With Lithium Batteries, get them charged for about 5-6 hours. Make sure ignore the phone telling you that the battery is full, as this is not accurate before the battery has undergone the initial charge.
Always Charge Your Phone Correctly. Most new cell phones have lithium-ion batteries, while the older ones usually have nickel based batteries. (Read the label on the back of the battery or in the technical specifications of your owner's manual to determine your battery type)
Nickel-based batteries (NiCd and NiMH) have a phenomenon known as "memory effect." This means that if you charge the battery only partially, eventually the battery
forgets that it can have a full charge. For cell-phones with nickel batteries make sure to discharge them completely once every two to three weeks, this will prolong the battery life. (If you feel that your nickel-based battery is "suffering" from the "memory effect", it can be reconditioned. In order to recondition the battery completely discharge it, then completely recharged (several times). This will help the battery regain it's duration.
Lithium-ion batteries are completely different when it comes to charging. Lithium-ion batteries do not have the same memory effect. However, many devices that use lithium batteries have a meter that shows the user how much power has been left. Lithium-ions oxidize in the battery, thus shortening its life. After a certain period of time, the battery exhibits slightly different electronic properties, which the device can only detect when the battery is completely discharged. This type of problem is known as a
virtual memory effect and it's "symptoms" are when you notice your battery meter shows a high charge, then suddenly drops to low charge when the battery is almost dead. To prevent this from occurring, every thirty charging cycles, you should discharge lithium ion batteries until the phone gives a low battery warning, then fully recharge it. (DO NOT fully discharge a lithium-ion battery! Lithium-ion batteries' life is shortened every time you fully discharge them. Instead, charge them when the battery meter shows one bar left.) This battery reconditioning ensures that the battery meter on your lithium ion cellphone stays accurate. The virtual memory effect however does not affect the battery capacity as in the nickel based batteries.
Batteries Should Be Kept Cool at All Times.Batteries last longest if they are used near room temperature. Avoid leaving your phone in a hot car or in direct sunlight, and don’t carry your phone in your pocket, where your body heat will raise its temperature, instead get yourself a
cell phone holster. Also make sure to check the battery while it’s charging, see if it feels hot. If it seems excessively hot, your charger may be malfunctioning. Remember, that nothing wears on a battery like extended exposure to high temperatures.
Keep Your Battery Clean.Make sure to clean the metal contacts on the battery and on the phone. Over time, contacts accumulate dirt. The best way to clean them is by using a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. This will maximize the efficiency of energy transfer.

How to Reduce the Need to Charge Your Phone?

People today are using their cell phone in place of their land-line phone. Many people will talk on their cell phone while being in their home or office. The reason for this is probably the conveniences involved, which includes; not being locked to your office or home through out the conversation and also due to the many
cell phone accessories available to make you conversation easy and enjoyable on your cell phone, while there aren't many accessories available for land-line phones.
Using the cell phone even while being in your home or office does not pose any significant problem, besides that you might just use up your battery power and won't have your cell phone available when your really need it.
So let's discuss today what needs to be taken in consideration in order to make the battery last longer between charges.
Shut It When You Don't Need It.
If you are not planning on answering the phone while you're sleeping or after business hours, just turn it off. This is probably the most effective and simplest way of conserving your cell phone's battery power. Make sure to do the same if you are in the subway or in remote area with no reception, constant search for service depletes the battery fairly quickly. The same should be done in a roaming area.
Make Sure to Have Good Reception.
The best way to ensure longer battery life is to make sure you have a great signal when you use your phone. If you don't have a great signal, get a
cell phone booster which will amplify the signal to provide near perfect reception anywhere you go. Simply stop searching for a signal. Cell Phones are programmed to constantly look for a better connection in an area with poor or no signal, using up all your power.
Decrease the Use of Your Phone's Back Light.
The back light is what makes the phone easier to read in bright light or outside. However, the light also uses battery power. If you can get by without it, simply turn off your phone's back light, you will notice that your battery lasts longer. If you have to use the back light, shorten the amount of time that the back light is lit. Most phones will let you set the amount of time to leave the back light on.
Shut your Vibrator and Get Your Phone Ringer On.
Switch the vibrate function on your phone to off , and use the ringer instead. The vibrate function uses up a lot of cell phone battery power. (Now you know why people keep there ringer on in public places, sometimes annoying the surrounding people.)
Avoid Using Unnecessary Features.
If your are not using your Bluetooth, turn it off. Same goes for WI-FI and GPS. If your phone has these features built in, Keep them off when you don't need it.
If you see that all the above steps still does not help getting your battery to last through out the day, you might just want to consider getting your self a spare
cell phone battery.

Avoid Being Bothered by Telemarketers on Your Cell Phone.

I was really annoyed the other day when my cell phone rang while I was enjoying my favorite supper, meatballs and spaghetti. When I finally got to my cell phone, which was placed in my briefcase in the other room, I learned that it was just some telemarketer trying to sell me some off brand dog food, when in fact I do not even own a dog! I have added my cell phone in the past to the "Do Not Call List", so they had no business calling me in the first place, and besides this, it's illegal for telemarketers to call someone on their cell phone.
So lets explore the options and steps to be taken in order for all of us be able to sit back and relax while at home, and avoid the need to just say..."Thanks, but I am not interested" over and over.
Putting your phone number on the
do not call List is the first step that should be done. However, don't think that this will just stop them from calling you. Even when you add your number to the Do Not Call List, they sometimes continue to call you. This is frustrating when they call you on your home or office phone, but it's even more annoying when they call you on you cell phone, because they are using up your minutes. Even though there are some telemarketers who are exempt from the Do Not Call list rules, there are no telemarketers who are exempt from the law that prohibits them from calling your cell phone.
When you get a telemarketing phone call, very politely tell the telemarketer that you do not wish to receive such offers in the future and that he/she should remove your phone number from their list. For legal purposes, you will need to tell this phrase 'Put my number on your don't-call list,' to the telemarketer. Per FCC requirements, once you've said this sentence, the telemarketer is prohibited from calling you again for 10 years. (Make sure you say that exact sentence. Just saying 'Take me off your list' or 'Stop calling me' does not legally force the telemarketer to stop calling you.) This will in most cases solve the problem and you won't receive any phone calls from them in the future. You can also write a letter to Telephone Preference Service, Direct Marketing Association at P.O. Box 9014, Farmingdale, NY 11735-9014. Provide your name, address and home telephone number and say that you do not want calls from any telemarketers. Be sure to sign the letter and keep a copy.
To take it a step further, you can also perform a reverse phone search online and see what you can find out about the telemarketing company, such as their name and address, then simply file a complaint with the FTC by calling (888) 382-1222.

Finally Be Able to Use any Headphone with the New iPhone 3G!

As most of you out there are aware, the iPhone was not able to accept any headphone or headset not manufactured particularly for the iPhone, and only
headphones for iPhones were possible to be used. The reason for this was that the iPhone featured a recessed jack. This is just a problem of the past with the Apple's new iPhone 3G.
The new Apple iPhone features a flush headphone jack (as can be seen in the image posted on this blog), which means that you will be able to just plug in any 3rd party headphone jacks.
The reason as for why for Apple has manufactured the original iPhone with a recessed headphone jack, is something that many are wondering.
