Dress up Your iPod with a...Sock!!

When I told a few of my colleagues the other day, that the Apple iPod sock is a hot selling iPod accessory, they looked at me as if I am off-the-Moon. "Why on earth would anyone spend $30 dollars on a sock?!" (A single sock, not even a pair!)

Apple has an accessory called an "iPod Sock". In Apples words, this is what it is meant to do:
"Dress your iPod up in any one of six vibrant color socks (green, purple, grey, blue, orange, and pink). This set of knit socks provides a stylish, fun, and practical way to protect your iPod".

I can understand that it is fun or even stylish, but how on earth can they call it practical. Isn't it more practical to just slip your iPod out of a iPod leather case or a iPod holster?! It seems to me that Apple is running out of ideas on developing new iPod accessories. Another great question that keeps my head pondering, if people actually want to keep their iPod in a sock, then try a newborn sock. It fits perfectly! And it's only $0.99 at your local .99 cent store.

iPod Accessories You Don't Want to Miss!

With the Apple iPod continuing to become more and more popular as each day passes along, let's spend some quality time discussing and recommending some great iPod Accessories.

iPod Speakers
iPod fans love to walk around with that white iPod headphones plugged in to their ears. However, when sitting at home or office wearing headphones is not always the best option. Getting your self Speakers for iPods is a great idea, it will allow you to listen to your favorite music on your iPod, but in the same time it won't cut you off from your surroundings, as iPod headphones are known to do. When choosing speakers for your iPod, there are two types of speakers you can get, Bluetooth or regular speakers. iPod Bluetooth Speakers are a little higher in price, but they are very convenient. It does not require you to plug them in and you won't have to deal with tangled wires. On the other hand, regular portable iPod speakers can be purchased for cheaper, however the wires are a nuisance to some consumers.

iPod Bluetooth Car Kits
Wearing headphones while driving is a potential hazardous thing. Headphones can block the surrounding sounds, thus preventing the driver from being aware of their surroundings. This can be very dangerous when a nearby driver is trying to grab your attention but fails to be successful due to the iPod headphones. The solution is to get a iPod Bluetooth Car Kit. The iPod Bluetooth Car Kit Will enable you to listen to your favorite music on your iPod, just like you are listening to your radio.

How to Protect Your iPod from Thieves.

I just love my iPod and that's why I felt really vulnerable when I discovered that my iPod is missing from my car, or to put it more blunt, when my iPod was stolen from my car.

I started reading up and found that unfortunately these little pieces of technology are the number one target for thieves. However, there are ways you can prevent this horrible episode from happening to you. I would like to share with you some points on how to protect yourself, or rather hgow to protect your iPod.

iPods have increasingly grown in popularity over the past few years. With that increase in the number of people walking around with them, the number iPod robberies has also increased. The reason they are targeted is because they are easily identifiable and come without any anti-theft protection, and are not a low cost gadget. So let's go on to some easy to follow prevention steps, that may prove to be valuable to you one day.

1) The number one thing you never want to do is to leave your iPod unattended and if you do need to leave it without your supervision, make sure to hide it well. At all times keep it in your pocket, purse, in your pants or jacket. When you leave it in your car, keep it well out of sight, such as putting it in to the glove compartment or under a seat, you never know who will be walking by your car and see it. The trouble may not just be that your iPod is missing, in most cases you will need to deal with a shattered window. I am not sure which one is more costly, the replacing the car window or the iPod, so you would want to avoid both.

2) Although most people choose to walk around and show-off their iPod earphones, it might not be so wise. When thieves see someone with these iPod ear pieces they just need to see where it leads to and walk over and snatch it, they are real giveaways for thieves looking for a target. I would recommend to find earphones for iPods that are less less distinguishable and therefore less likely to draw unwanted attention.

3) Try not to wear your iPod belt clip in the open, rather have a t-shirt or other clothing covering your iPod. Wearing them out is a call for a thief to rob you and before you realize, some thief is now the proud new owner of your beloved iPod.

4) Another smart move is to register your iPod with Apple. Register your serial number which can be found on the back of your iPod. Next, make sure to create a profile including your home address and phone number. Once you registered your iPod, if someone finds your iPod they can contact Apple to report your lost iPod, Apple will contact you immediately that your iPod has been found.
It's also a good idea in general to know your iPod's serial number. If it ever gets stolen, you will be able to provide the police with your serial number. This may give the police a much better chance of recovering your iPod.

Does iPod Accessories work with the Apple iPhone?

This is a very common question amongst iPod and iPhone fans, so let's delve into the iPhone Accessories and iPod Accessories to see which accessories are compatible.

The iPhone is compatible with the majority of accessories designed for the iPod. For example many people are concerned that now that they have an iPhone and won't be carrying the iPod around they will lose the ability to connect up to a speaker system to share the music with others. You will be happy to learn that the iPhone has exactly the same connectivity port as that found on the iPod, so it will connect to any iPod speaker system or car dock that you might have already purchased.

However some iPod accessories have changed to better suit the iPhone. A good example is the iPod headphones. It is still possible to use regular headphones with the iPhone but when you receive a call you would need to take the headphones out to answer the call. For this reason Apple has especially designed a set of headphones for the iPhone, featuring a microphone built into the cord. When you receive a call the song you are listening to is paused and it's possible to answer the call simply by pressing a small button on the microphone. Another great feature found on the iPhone headphones is that you will hear your calls through both ears rather than one, and also being able to listen to the party on the other line in stereo sound which turns your phone conversation into a very exciting experience.

Another benefit with using an iPhone with a iPhone headset is that it means that your one headset serves both headset needs, for music and phone calls. It also helps to remain focused on the road since there is no need in removing one headset to insert another, just click the button on the iPhone headset and you have already answered the phone call.
